Your Super Bowl Champion is…

The 2021 NFL season has the potential to be one the best in league history with the amount of capable teams that I feel, have the right to think they can win the Super Bowl. From all four finalists from a year ago, to even teams like the Chargers with a strong defense and young stud in a QB in Justin Herbert.  Even the teams with no possibility to make the super bowl have young quarterbacks that everyone...for now seems to have high hopes in.  The only two teams with no buzz and no one actually cares about, the Lions and the Texans, who cares about them anyway?

In that case, let's break each team down until we finally get to my Super Bowl Champion.

Teams that will miss the playoffs:

AFC

Jacksonville- Great potential for the future and a great foundation with their skill players.  This year is solely about what players make it easier for Trevor to play QB.  The future is bright here

NY Jets- They are already off to a better start with this Zack Wilson, from what they were with Darnold. Giving Wilson a top 40 receiver to help build confidence is key.  The left side of the line should provide great protection to help Wilson succeed.

Houston- You should have traded Watson last year before the draft, now you are stuck with an asset that currently has no value.  You should be trading as many players for picks as possible and ensuring that you end up with the number one draft pick next year.

Cincinnati- Please just make sure Burrows knee doesn't fall apart like a turkey leg.  Continue to build around Joe and build rapport with his receivers

Miami- Is Tua your guy or not. Stop the bullshit and figure out this year if he is who you want to develop into your franchise QB.  They have already started by adding a few more pieces to the offense, but do they fit the playstyle that will make him most successful.

New England- You have the base to keep Mac Jones upright with a great offensive line. Continue on the development path, see which of your wide outs will step up with Mac and build upon it.  The defense should be good, but in some spots especially the secondary, they are getting up there in age.

Las Vegas- Typically your starting QB doesn't even reach free agency, but will Carr be the first realistic starter to reach the market since Kirk Cousins.  The front office continues to be bad at the draft by over drafting, lets see if some of these day one and two picks provide any production.

Indianapolis- Is Wentz your starter of the future, I don't think so but we will see.  The receiver unit is not the best and if they struggle to score points, they will be one the outside of the playoffs looking in.

Baltimore - The fact that Gregg Roman is still the OC is a crime.  He has a ceiling that he puts on a team and that was reached last year in the playoffs. Without the dynamic ability of Lamar they do not win that playoff game. Lamar once again has little in the receiver unit and now down two rbs, they will need Lamar to be superman!

NFC

Lions- I hope Detroit has good cable channels to watch the various college teams throughout the season.  Having Lions games on your tv should be a crime.

49ers- Either start Trey Lance or don't.  Having the qbs switch in and out is dumb and could cause them games early to lose out on a playoff birth.  Lance is still raw and should sit as long as possible until the staff has full confidence in him. Or start him week 1 and get the show on the road.

Eagles- The Minshew trade leads me to believe the leash on Jalen Hurts is fairly short.  They are a bad team but because of the division can easily make it to the playoffs.

Chicago- Unlike the 49ers, not starting Fields is dumb because he is already the better QB.  Once Justin takes the field they need to do everything in their power to make him comfortable.  I can see a similar progression like Josh Allen, where they rely heavily on the run game early as he develops into a better passer.

WFT- Ryan Fitzpatrick has never made the playoffs and that streak will continue.  The defense being really good will keep them in games, but they level of quarterback they will be playing this year will cause them to slip a little.

Arizona- Maybe getting a mediocre college will lead you to be a mediocre NFL coach.  Kliff has done anything that Chip Kelly was doing with the Eagles.  He runs the same offense as the Bills without the results.  Maybe change Kliff.

NY Giants- They may be a QB away from being good. Daniel Jones turns the ball over way too much to be considered even an average quarterback.  If the turnover woes subside maybe the Giants and win their division and make the playoffs.

Vikings- They are one sneeze away from having you play quarterback for them.  Their defense is overrated and Kirk Cousins has proven he is not a big time qb. Not even top 15 in the league.

Saints- The upgraded the QB position to someone who can make a throw on every part of the field.  They unfortunately have no one besides Kamara who is good as a skill position player.  Also not playing at home to start the season is not a good thing.

Teams that will make the playoffs:

Carolina- The panthers have the ability to have a dynamic offense if their red zone woes have gone down.  Darnold in one of the worst possible situations has a quality team around him and the youth if the team should take them into playing games in January.

Chargers- Herbert is the real deal! Their offense…………...matter fact their team if healthy can compete for a championship. Let’s see if their medical staff and help them make it to the next level.

Atlanta- Replacing Julio Jones with Kyle Pitts is exactly the move that was needed, especially with coach Arthur Smith.  With two dynamic receivers and a passable run game, Pitts could do numbers this year to help the Falcons reach the playoffs.

Pittsburgh- Is the run game back, it should be! You don't draft a RB in the first round and not plan to feed him over 300 touches for the year.  The defense will continue to be the strong point and I see them being a threat in the AFC.

Tampa Bay- The Bucs coming off their Super Bowl run and bringing everyone back, something that you've heard probably 5000 times. Well they should compete for another championship, but I wonder if their offense struggles even a little bit, does that make them take a step back.

Denver- If Bridgewater can play steady throughout the season and let that Broncos defense play their role, they should be able to roll into the playoffs.  I just wonder if their run game will go back to a decent to above average unit.

Dallas- If they can't win this division with the skill players they have, something is terribly wrong.  Dak will probably struggle coming off ankle surgery and shoulder rehab, so expect a lot of Zeke.

Titans- The division is ass, you should win this easily.  Running the ball should continue to be their bread and better and play action has always been Tannehill’s friend.

Seattle- The defense will need to step up a hell of a lot for them to make a Super Bowl run.  As always it is a matter of how much Russ is under pressure. If they can keep him clean they will have a chance in every game.

Buffalo- The defense front 6 is going to need major help if they cannot stop the run like last year.  This is a big year for MLB Edmunds who has been an underwhelming player for his career. The offense has the ability to take another step if Sanders can be a playmaker unlike John Brown last year.

Green Bay- knowing this will probably be the last year for Rodgers in the uniform this year, should have the team firing on all cylinders for the season.

Kansas City- The team to beat in the AFC for a few years has a weakness this year.  Their line isn't the best and the corners are shaky...but they have Mahomes. He fixes everything and I expect that to continue.

Teams that will make the Super Bowl:

LA Rams-  This has to be the year right.  Sean went and hand picked Matt Stafford as his QB, the defense is still good. I see no reason that cannot make the Super Bowl.

Cleveland- The Browns may have the best all around team this year. They are solid at every position.  They were closer than the Bills at beating the Chiefs and they brought back explosive players to help them. I have them coming out of the AFC this year.
