Toronto FC v NYCFC

Toronto FC v NYCFC

03/07/2020

Achara in his first MLS game scored and helped Toronto get their first win of the season.  He would have had two goals on the day if not for VAR calling his first off for being offsides.  Except for the first 15 minutes of the second half, Toronto out played NYCFC and if not for the play of the NYCFC goalkeeper Sean Johnson could have scored on multiple occasions.  This game shows how well the club can play when everyone is playing at a high level.  Toronto can be one of the best teams in MLS and should compete for MLS Cup this year.

With expansion club Nashville SC coming to BMO Field next Saturday, the club could very well start the 2020 campaign with an early lead in the Eastern Conference.  Once again Toronto has a chance go back to playoffs and compete for MLS Cup.  The pure dominance the club showed today should bode well for future success.

Key Stat of the Game:

17 shots- 9 shots on goal!
