Buffalo Bills Day 3 NFL Draft
It is day Three of the NFL Draft and let’s be honest, there aren’t too many pressing needs for this football team. The areas going into the draft the team needed to address I believe they have done so. Adding depth to the Defensive line and adding that much needed second RB. Every other position that you may say the team needs to address, is more and likely just depth at the position or you may not like a particular player who is starting there. With this Day three, I look for the Bills to add players who can compete with players lower on the depth chart for added depth. Here is a look at some players on the team that may have some competition coming…when/if we have a training camp this year.
I have to start this list off with our back-up QB position. Matt Barkley is, how do I say it…a really good guy in the community….um, a really good locker room guy I assume and he looks like a guy you’d randomly meet at a bar and say hey, I think I know you. With all that said, he isn’t a good backup and I would love for the Bills to actually invest in the position. The team is one hit away from Barkley playing and that scares me. So, I am hopeful that the Bills look into investing in the position, maybe as early as the 4th round.
Players who as we at Technically Sports say should be “Renting”- Andre Roberts, Duke Williams, Ray-Ray McCloud, Robert Foster and Nick Easley. To be completely honest, if the Bills drafted a receiver in the 4th or 5th round to compete, I could see a scenario where that draft pick makes the team and all these other players are cut. Neither made a big enough impact on the 2019 roster to guarantee them anything moving forward.
Just cut Lee Smith already!
Lee Smith
Just called for his 3rd holding call of the game!
To be completely honest this roster as currently constituted is one of the best in the league and there is no way this team should not compete for a championship this year. That may sound scary, but if this team didn’t play in Buffalo you would hear more about this team’s championship aspirations. General Manager Beane hasn’t hit on any of day three picks in the two years that he has been here and to expect things to change this year would be foolish. Off that point this roster has been built up beautifully and is a good thing that the Bills aren’t trying to fill holes with 4th and 5th round guys. Let’s just enjoy the draft, hope more teams draft like the Packers and let’s start to get ready for the upcoming season.
